Northumberland's Premier Martial Arts Academy

A complete system of striking and grappling linked together — not kept separate. Live-drill focused and highly fitness-based. Built for everyone, not just competitors. A brilliant way to get fit.

Taught by Coach Stephen Fairbairn — BJJ Black Belt, Carlson Gracie lineage. Our style prioritises top control, submissions, and self-defence applicable technique. Gi and No-Gi available.

No contracts. No unrealistic techniques. Real martial arts for children — building confidence, self-defence, and fitness. Grappling only for safety at a crucial stage of development.
High intensity and controlled training are not opposites. Classes are structured and progressive — training intensity increases without the need for injury or unnecessary aggression.
All students train to the level they are at, sharing combined knowledge. Beginners are guided safely by experienced partners — accelerating progress and building a real gym culture that benefits everyone.
We compete in sports BJJ and support fighters — but self-defence and MMA applicability are always central. Our style of Itaipava BJJ revolves around top control, escapes, and real-world grappling.

HOW CAN I GET STARTED?
WHAT OUR COMMUNITY SAYS
No prior experience is required whatsoever. Our classes are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. You'll be guided safely through your first class by an experienced training partner.
We have classes for kids from 7 years old, teens aged 13–17, and adults 18+. Each group is coached at an appropriate level with age-specific considerations for safety and development.
Absolutely not — this is the number one reason people delay starting. The training gets you fit. Come as you are and build up over weeks and months. Prior fitness won't hurt, but it's definitely not important or required.
No. Membership runs monthly from the 1st of each month with no long-term contracts. We want you to stay because you love training — not because a contract forces you to.
Comfortable gym clothes (t-shirt and shorts) are fine to start. If you want to train BJJ, we’ll guide you on how to get a uniform (gi).
Absolutely! Our classes are beginner-friendly, and we pride ourselves on being welcoming and supportive. No experience or fitness level is required to start.
